The Ministry for the Reintegration of the Occupied Territories plans to continue implementing the state target program “Restoration and development of peace in the eastern regions of Ukraine.”
“We will continue it and insist that this is one of the key programs of not only the Ministry, but also The government as a whole,” he said in the program “In fact: Donbass” with Alexey Matsuka on the DOM TV channel, First Deputy Head of the Ministry of Integration Rostislav Zamlinsky.
Currently, five regions of Ukraine fall under the program.: Donetsk, Lugansk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia and Kharkov regions. However, the Ministry of Integration believes that the Kherson region should also be added. The ministry also believes that the successful implementation of the program’s projects in the border regions is the main weapon in the fight against the armed aggression of the Russian Federation. “The more successful we are, the sooner we will defeat our enemy,” the relevant ministry believes.
Regarding the lifting of the economic blockade that was imposed in 2017 on territories beyond the control of the Ukrainian government, Zamlinsky noted that this is not just about the economy or trade with the occupied territories. He believes that this issue needs to be approached comprehensively: “We are talking about safe business activities and safe working conditions. That enterprises should work and pay taxes in accordance with Ukrainian legislation, ensure the professional growth of their employees, and establish the work of trade union organizations. Ensure safe product quality. And, finally, to guarantee the right of business entities to defend their rights in court.”
The Deputy Head of the Ministry of Integration admitted that only if all these conditions are fulfilled and the Ukrainian government is fully restored in the occupied territories, it will be possible to talk about lifting the blockade.
